About Library Leadership Network

LLN Mission and Services

The Library Leadership Network exists to help libraries succeed in the 21st century.  Today's libraries are challenged to deliver results that demonstrate how they make a difference in the communities they serve.  And this mandate comes at a time of increasing technological and economical challenge. The future success and sustainability of every library will be directly related to its ability to plan for and achieve success in the following ways, depicted as the "Four V's:"
Valuable: The library's resources (collection, services) are of great value to the community it serves-both active and potential users. The library is increasingly viewed as a place that delivers these resources when and where they are needed.
Visible: The community served by the library is more than acquainted with the library-it knows what is new, and how the library is reaching out to provide greater value to its current and potential customers.
Vital: The library's existence is an important part of the lives of the community it serves. It is seen as both relevant and alive.
Viable:The library is able to exceed the expectations of the community because it is both financially and organizationally strong.
LLN Services will help today's library "CEO's" to achieve this success by providing them with the timely information, ideas and tools they need to better manage their institutions and thus create greater value for the communities they serve.  These services will be especially helpful in the following areas:  Planning, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Development, and Community Relations.
